About Us
WHIZKIDS LLC was officially
launched in August,
2005, by Kelly McLaughlan and Joan
Fernandez,
of South Riding, VA.
Kelly
McLaughlan graduated from James Madison University in 1990
with a BBA in Finance. After receiving certification as a
Systems Engineer by Electronic Data Systems, she deployed computer
systems and provided user training at US Army bases around the
world. In 1993, Kelly moved on to Coopers and Lybrand L.L.P.
(later PricewaterhouseCoopers, now I.B.M.), as a Program Manager in
the Technology and Finance practice. Here she managed teams
responsible for implementing government computer systems and user
training programs.
Joan Fernandez graduated
from Ohio University in 1987 with a BBA in Management Information
Systems. She began her career as a Programmer/Analyst with the
US Navy, responsible for the development and training of end user
systems. From there, Joan moved on to a small software
company, Versatility Inc., as a Project Manager responsible for the
design, development, implementation and training of telemarketing
and sales software. Her last position was with Oracle as a
Technical Director in charge of a nationwide technical sales
force. She and her employees were responsible for providing
technical support during the Oracle software sales cycle. This
support included developing and presenting business solutions and
training end users on Oracle’s offerings.
